Chocolate Almond Smoothie

The leftover Halloween candy is long gone, so I decided to make a healthy version of my favorite fun-size treat, the Almond Joy. It’s got the chocolate, it’s got the coconut, and it’s got the almonds. And it’s got health benefits! What more could you want? Here’s what I threw in the blender:

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • 1 tsp flaxseed
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • ½ tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp shredded coconut
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder

Note: Don’t let the almond extract freak you out! Ever since I ordered it on Vitacost, I’ve been adding it to oatmeal, baked goods, coffee, and smoothies. It’s pretty awesome.
